Too slick to flail

posted in Uncategorized |

This might be a hard habit to break. I sometimes lie down for a quick nap, without deciding what the effect on my daily routine might be. Specifically, I should abjure naps before meals. The interaction between hunger and sleep (the REM vairiety) lead to vivid dream sequences that lack certain elements of logic.

Today, I awoke from an intense session of disassembling a gas stove. More of a BBQ, really. And not a model that I actually own. I was busily trying to sort out the various rings and things that had fallen to the ground, and that were too warm to handle. I have a fear of eventually transferring such specific  experience to my real life. No intention of inventing a new cooking source. But the sleep is hardly restful, which negages any reason for my activity.

Did inventors work that way? Are many of our gadgets a result of dream moviies that didn’t go terribly wrong?

Efforts are underway (I’ve learned), to adaapt my environment. The numbers on the phone have been repainted. Since I don’t actually phone anyone, and most of my conversations are with Amazon (sic) about an endless progression of orders for iPhones that have been redirected to China, the numbers are not particularly useful. I always hit “one” just to see what the Amazon (sic) representative will want. So far, no extra iPhones have been delivered…

It has been raining ice since early this morning. Schools were closed, and medical appointments were resecheduled to busier days (in our case, at least). The windspeed is a mystery, until we get warmer moments. The deck is too slick to allow me any flail time with a broom (against the stalled anemometer cups). Friday, with strange dreams and too much ice to allow anything involving ice skates.
