Designated genny tester
I comefrom a familyh of campers. Unable to pay for swank motel suites, we brought our vacation accommodations with us. That first canvas tent with dire warnings not to touch the walss during rain, gave way to a towwed tent trailer. Yes, the one that destroyed the lock from high school. A funny story… The safety chains were firmly attached, at least for the first bit of road travel. And there were no inspectors, where we were going.
Oh, right. The tent trailer. We were too many, so I had to sleep underneath, in an infamous sleeping bag I had earned by (not) selling greeting cards. Another funny story…
That sleeping bag had a waterproof sheet attached to the lower side. A great way to make sure you get wet if it rains. A funny story… Let me reassure you. It didn’t aways rain, and young boys are waterproof. Tested.
I think you understand. We camped, but not in great comfort. Fast forward to the ‘20s, where we own a rather luxurious motor home. Big enough for two and the dog; that is all that really counts. And the beast has a lot of technology. This afternoon, I went out to test the “genny”. Similar to the one attached to the house, albeit smaller. We may have to refill the LPG tnk, eventually. Todaay, I just wanted to see if it worked, after six months of no go. And it does. I got down (on a slippery slab of ice), turned on the main gas switch, went inside, primed things, and pressed start. Louder than I remembered, but if we need to get away, we have one more option for electricity. As soon as I learn how to fill the tank. Onee thing at a time. Before any travel, I want the snow to go away.
