New spoons and flat pan
Life should include new and exciting experiences, so today we visited a factory outlet store for the first time. I know, I know, for those that live in the industrial heartland, or near an international border, such things are common practice. I am on the Island.
The day started out with our trip to find a new air mattress, with a segue to a bookstore. Sleep, read; essential to the camping experience. Why not complete the triumvirate with a visit to a cookware store. After our meal the other night, my heart was set on some Paderno flatware, and with the help of some tourist information we had no difficulty setting the GPS to the target. Well, OK, I didn’t distract the Garmin from its role as a data collection device, but I did point the driver in the right direction at the Peter Pan corner and the rest was as simple as keeping my eyes open.
The sure sign that something is a commercial success is having your own traffic signal. On the TCH, no less. The collection of stores at the tip of the North River Causeway turned Bridge has been one that I have often passed; today we turned in. There aren’t really very many “outlet stores” per se, but the Paderno store had exactly what we wanted. A staff that knows their stock and reasonable prices; what a combo. We left with some new flatware after a discussion about the importance of a proper spoon size, and I found a lovely flat bottomed frying pan. At home, one might believe that we used pans as tennis rackets or such, given the number of bumps; this one should allow an egg to form up without the use of a chaser spatula.
We’re waiting for other family members, so we’re back in Souris for the evening. Coffee before the boat sails or something similar.
