Old movies puzzle

posted in media |

Second day with an old movie as a distraction. This time, Morocco. After ninety minutes, I’m still unsure what the whole thing was about. That Foreign Legion business is familiar, thanks to Bugs Bunny. The rest was just window dressing.

Perhaps old movies are just that. Time travel for the faint of heart. There’s a broad catalogue available, but my hours might be better spent working on, say, current documentaries. Have to give this some additional thought.

Fortunately, music doesn’t age in the same way. I can dig out an old album (the medium is irrelevant). What sounded good then is probably as good now, and I can even try my own version of a song.

Food, ditto. Some books. A path through the woods. Only movies suffer from time passing.

I should stop by the public library, and return my “borrowed” before any penalties kick in. The most recent lot has served my need to research who was who, but I’ve exhausted my need. Time to let someone else do their own rooting (these were genealogy books). Maybe I can find another thread to follow. The local branch doesn’t have a large holding, but it is centrally located.

Oddly, I haven’t renewed my alumni privileges on the campus; their lack of free parking is a deterrent. Do they know that? Do they care? Probably not; the new generation of student researchers deserve priority.

Had to spend a short time, this afternoon, re-tethering my latest antennas. We could hear chafe noises, when the wind came around.
