No need to tilt or whirl
“Sunny and 7C in a flat calm”; the answer to the weather this afternoon. Or as I look on it, pretty nice, considering that winter could begin at any moment. Not this moment, but any other…
We decided to head for the city, given that the contractor wasn’t en route. The next few days will depend, in large part, on his schedule. No long absences during daylight. Some shopping to get done. On the wish list, here, a fireplace. Not a real fireplace, with bricks and ashes; something more of a light show. An electric heater with a display. In a furniture piece, to replace the current television base.
And we found one. At a hardware store, where I have been fortunate enough to find other treasures (like a flea collar for the dog), on the road that used to lead down to the jail. They’ll deliver the unit later this week since we’ll be at home waiting for the contractor. Remember, this is not to heat the house. This is to provide an alternative to Netflix (I guess).
We’re also going to mount the TV on the wall, and the chap at Best Buy convinced us that we didn’t need have something that tilted and whirled. The whole point, after all, is to watch TV (without inducing motion sickness). I’ll have the fun of trying to attach everything solidly, later this week.
We also made a quick stop at the campus bookstore. My regular visits are always in the summertime, and to actually see students in situ came as a shock. I’m pleased to mention that my diligence in acquiring a higher education also permits me to receive 15% off when buying new sweat pants.
