Forgotten (or parked)

posted in pets, technology |

I do appreciate when someone does a job well. Even more so, when they’re working with “my” stuff; today the technical team from the drapery store showed up, as scheduled. No wasted time here. In, remove coats, remove blind, store it carefully away, comment on the lovely view and the great weather, leave. In that order. I could have futzed around and (possibly) damaged the mechanism or the material. They just did the job and got back on the road. Yes, they’ll be invited back, when the maintenance job on the big door has been completed.

I found the house rather quiet, early this afternoon. More so than usual, given that the dog wasn’t snoring. Or begging for biscuits. Or any of the other endearing things he does. Turns out he wasn’t in the house, or outside. He’d been “left behind” following a car trip, and was sitting patiently in the back seat, wondering what was next on the agenda. We felt sheepish (not at all doggish) and so we joined him in the car for a brief return trip to the city.

I’ve been shopping, a lot. Today I made my choice, and we now have a new digital piano in the house. On a proper stand, and everything. I’ve taken care of the paperwork, and must now try to recall the hours of instruction from back in the ’70s. Perhaps I’ll be better than back then; I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on where my fingers are supposed to go. Can’t wait to get started.
