Fun in games

posted in education, politics |

Turns out I’m both (technically) poor AND lazy. A bad combination, where my spending exceeds my income and I accept to “eat out” twice in one day. Must show some reserve, ASAP.

Over breakfast, I brought up my close call with the the license tag rules; turns out that others have already gone down that path. If you get really careless, deeming payment to be “not a priority”, and then get into an accident, you could find the insurance people unwilling to fulfill their part of the Faustian bargain. Time to get next year’s calendar marked up.

I’ve found a fun language learning game online. So far, I’ve passed into the third level, where I go from identifying the picture that goes with a word, through identifying the word that goes with a picture and on into a spelling game. Unfortunately, there are no clues, other than the total letter count, and capitals and fadas count. I’m on a plateau until I get a better strategy.

We considered just driving around in the dark, earlier. With no moon, and full cloud cover, the fun goes away quickly. We also decided to leave wandering on the beach until repacked the car – no flashlights. I could see us meandering past the path through the dunes, for hours on end.

Went to the public library and became a subscriber, this afternoon. Actually came home with two books (genealogy material) and a firm intent to exploit this latest resource. My new card is much better in appearance than the one I had some three decades ago.
