Parking woes
As I carefully aligned my window with that of the toll booth and proferred the required amount, I was completely nonplussed by the attendant’s question. “Have you been uptown, shopping, because I saw you coming in across the end of the parking lot?”
I had, actually, but this was a commercial parking lot. I explained that I had exited the medical building by the wrong door, in confusion, and then circled around to get my bearings. Shows that the availability of spots to leave your car is far below what is required in the center of the city.
Contrast that with the box store neighbourhood, where there is always enough space, and a steady flow of shoppers. If I were a city merchant, I’d be worried. Until the city gets a subway (never…), the access to traditional shops will require a car, especially for those of us who travel “many miles, before we sleep”. Best get some infrastructure, and stop depending on the tollbooth attendant to keep us all “honest”.
I was into town before my appointment; early, in other terms. Amazing how much I can get done when I have a list of things to do and access to the places which match up. I was all done shopping and headed home before the lunch bell rang. Even took care of that nagging pang with a stop at a market in a small village along the way home.
The warranty guy was in, to look at my complaint about a slow leak from one door/window. He believes the door isn’t level, which leads to all kinds of possibilities.
