Drive in concentric patterns

posted in technology |

Some folks love to drive. When the request came in, this morning, to consider how long the grass was starting to be, I did the necessary. I pulled the great green beast out of storage in the garage. I filled the reservoir with a fresh purchase of supreme. I left the key in a visible location (in my hand). And then I sat back and watched.

The mower drove around in concentric patterns for about two hours, and now looks “uniform”. That’s a virtue, for some. All I had to do was watch from the window…

Late this afternoon, I wondered… would the foxes be out to play, across the way. We took the car over to the magic woods, and wandered around for enough time to assure ourselves. Not today. However, I did get severely reprimanded for my trespass by a belligerent squirrel, and we met some tourists. First of the season, I believe. A chance to compare notes on our respective railside upbringings. Not as much fun as fox-watching, but better than watching the grass regrow.

I have to wonder, when I watch corporate intellect do battle with “the rest of us”. Here in Canada, GofT is popular TV. If you can access it. For many, the only channel comes via crowdsharing, and that falls directly in opposition to those who want to protect their IP rights. For now, the guilty (of what crime, I’m unsure) receive dunning messages via email. Not exactly threatening, just unsettling. Akin to “does that dog bite?”.
