Ready for the big change-over
I don’t care. Even if the probs announce frost in the next few hours, I’m through with the white season. The “all other seasons” tires are in the car, ready for the big change-over tomorrow morning. In the field below here, the disc harrow is turning those furrows from last season into something flat and filled with potential – clover, perhaps?
The “new spots” around the feeders continue. An indigo bunting, maybe. Several different species of warblers, proudly wearing their various yellow schemes. Hummingbirds, two days already. The new season has started!
I pumped up tires on someone’s bike, this afternoon. The charger is ready, so that I can give the tractor a jolt. The lawn? Soon, apparently. Even though I prefer my greenery to be lush and long, the murmur has begun: “Cut it! Cut it!” I wonder if my permit privileges will be upgraded to Class JD this year?
Out west, their hot spell continues. As of the last estimate, an area equal to 75% of the Island is under fire. The actual tar sands are due for some baptism by fire: does that mean that this whole thing will be taken seriously, now that money is on the line? My guess is yes.
In today’s “odd news”, the head of FB has been called to meet with some important Cons. A story in the mainstream has hinted that there might be some editorial bias in the “news feed” section. Liberal bias. That is important. What if those young folk are made aware of the reality behind the “emperor’s new clothes”?
