Tracking the school diaspora

posted in history |

And snow fell, again. Not going to take this personally, but I’m ready for a change of seasons that lasts for more than a weekend equivalency. The wildlife, including those digging on the front “where the lawn should be” are also at wit’s end. That rabbit, with the colour change only partially completed seems particularly attentive. Eagles…

I took on a challenge this afternoon; try to locate the “survivors” of my graduating class. So far, a solid third have been accounted for; the rest of you are out there somewhere. Fun trying to track people with very common names and no forwarding address.

Meanwhile, not much else of note. I should go and read a good book. Or watch a good movie. Something. anything to distract me for a few hours. There’s always practicing an instrument, but then I’d be in the ears of others, and I’m very sensitive on that issue. Or is it sensible? So confusing.

Watched my Viking documentary last evening. Looks promising that the new Newfoundland site is “real”; what that will mean for the chances of proving this island as a possible site for artifacts is less clear. We don’t have much iron bearing rock, despite the rusty soil, and these wandering metallurgists were on a repair as they go path. A nail here, another there – it adds up.

The power companies are now starting to wonder what they’ll do, what with Tesla and his promising sales figures. Where will they find the juice to charge all those expensive batteries? And will it make lots of money?
