Soon we’ll do spring, I promise

Social does a wonderful job with warnings. Critical warnings. Do this NOW or ELSE! Today, one of our ebook readers was in focus. We have several around here, covering the various proprietary fiefdoms, and Kindle needed an update. Actually, the one here didn’t; we’re exceptional in that we keep devices up to the latest firmware whenever possible.

Still, I remembered that my Kobo might also need attention, and so I took care of its need to converse with the mothership. And I noticed that my current book was almost complete (read, not write). With supper out of the way, I sat down in a comfortable chair and finished my third Repairman Jack novel…

The Kobo carries on a statistical log, and I have just completed 100 books in 442 hours.

Watching the weather probs, and I am confused. There’s a storm on the way, maybe; depends on who you trust. Right now, Prince County is in the path of a “Winter Storm” complete with the awesome red banner. Queens County is going to get whatever a Snowfall Warning can deliver. And out here in Kings County – nada. I’m sceptical about any forecast with such laserlike precision. Tomorrow morning, I will be here, choosing from the foodstuffs already on site. No travel plans; you know, just in case. Even the dog has enough chow to get through another couple of nights, and in a pinch he’ll share (gladly).

And then we’re going to do spring. I promise.

A great photo from a prehistoric ring fort in northern Donegal. Proof that the ancients understood sight lines, if nothing else.
