Seriously discounted parking, at least
Today, an early alarm, coupled with an early departure. Before coffee, even, out of solidarity. We were headed to the city for a medical appointment.
Actually, a routine test, that could be handled at the local hospital, if they still did anything other than administer flu shots. Unfair? Yes, to all the local people who now have to gear up and get on the road for an hour. I’m going to make a guess that the local hospital administrator still receives the usual pay grade, because that is “the way of the administration”. There are certainly fewer doctors in the place, and by extension, fewer nurses. Remember the flu shots? The actual needlework was done by public health nurses, brought in for the week.
Anyhow, we made it to the Hospital, where parking was seriously discounted ($1.50 for unlimited time), due to the gates not working properly. Note that there was an attendant on duty to collect coins; just nobody to timestamp vouchers. A win for me. We threaded the usual maze, and while I watched cartoons left running by an earlier visitor (Fountain Abbey??), the test was administered and we were off for a day of adventure.
Breakfast with wifi. A chance to duplicate a lumber order I’d filled last fall. Some Staples time. Incidentally, my wood work required that the guys out in the yard cut down some 12 foot pieces into 4 foot pieces. I get the feeling that doesn’t happen often; they came in a pair to see if our order was satisfactory.
And with that, we headed back home. Happy.
