New hashtag #realsoonnow

Maybe I’m too polite to watch the contenders. Political ones, I mean. That dogfight, down south, is getting nasty. True, there may not be many gaping wounds from canine lock, but still. The election day is still 250 days off (I used an online calculator, rather than test my ability to touch my toes, repeatedly), but the parties with the monies are, for the next few weeks, locked into some loonie toon game called “primaries”; that’s where you refine your mudslinging skills among friends with similar lapel pins.

Of course, the press reports every grimace. Seriously. With video clips so you can see that former candidates are still able to flex facial muscles. And the tweets go on and on (if you subscribe to the right hashtags). I’m just starting to figure out that mechanism. Watch for my input, #realsoonnow.

Meanwhile, at home, the evening is winding down. Our frozen lasagna worked out well, with no need to open a single can of scrambled tomatoes. Yes, I do “make” my own deep dish, from scratch, but today the motivation was lacking, along with the ingredients. Better to dig deep in the box in the basement, and then let the timer tick down.

I’ve just realized that I have no idea where we keep all the extra buttons around here. My favourite shorts are slack in the waistline, so my efforts to emulate Boomer when I take the dog out are fraught with risk. Going to have to get busy on that problem before summer. My timeline is less deadline than it used to be, and I’ll get around to it. Eventually…
