In the same frame

posted in photography, politics |

Crispy chilly out, but worth a few minutes. Right now, the full moon and Jupiter are in the same “frame”. I’m too lazy to play with camera gear (crispy chilly cancels concentration). Just the same, one of those moments for the astro-neophytes in the family. Even the dog would peek, if he could figure out how.

Maybe by summertime, I’ll find the weather more to my liking.

This was a day for curling: we’ve watched two games, so far, and there’s a third one available in an hour or so. At three hours per match, a considerable investment in spectating (that is a word, right?). The rest of the time, I found ways to bother the dog. Stroke his tale. Stroke his paws. Scratch his ears. All of the above, with nary a complaint registered with the boss.

Oops! Someone just went outside with a camera, to take moonshots. This is a direct challenge. I may have to find warmer socks and a sweater, and get out there. Or maybe not. I’m at a point in my life where (when?) simply egging me on is insufficient. Colour me calm.

The budget numbers (federally) are starting to get public air time. We might be in for a legitimate round of deficits (in comparison to the imaginary real numbers from the last crew). Let’s be frank: the banks aren’t going to foreclose on the feds any time soon. Spend away, gang. It’s all imaginary at this point. You just keep signing the debt vouchers, and telling us that there are better times over the horizon.
