Six crows equal crowded

posted in environment |

Six crows on the front step equals crowded (OK, a murder, but I’m sworn to non-violence). The visitors are quick to notice anyone watching from the window, and hie off to nearby trees where they can jeer at our inability to follow.

Another glorious day outside, and seaward, there’s a hint of ice forming. All “out of sight” by sunset, but the warm weather promised for tomorrow and on won’t last. I wonder if I’ll get to add seals to my “seen in the neighbourhood”. That would be worth some focused camera time.

Spent more time cross-referencing names and dates through old newspaper pages (online, to be sure). My database crossed the line to a new high score of 53,000 interlaced identities. Onward and ever upward! On a trivial note, that was my citation in the final high school yearbook. I didn’t realize I’d created a motto for a lifetime.

Son #2 had cousins in to visit the bar today. FB is better for news than any of the newspapers I peruse. Or at least, better for pertinent news. I’m less concerned about the games other people play, and need news from the kids. Hint, hint.

On one of the newsfeeds I receive, up came a photo of someone else’s ham station. With a National receiver and a Johnson transmitter, it bore an eery resemblance to the station I owned, about forty years ago. The one that caused more than a little audio interference to the residence neighbours, with their budget amps and turntables. I wonder if they wonder about those days?
