A new gold standard

posted in food |

One day later: still haven’t watched (or found) the “super ads”. There was one opportunity to get the whole show, but I know how the game ended. Experience trumps bravado, or something like that.

Did I mention that Lady Gaga may have performed the “gold standard” for anthem performances?

The next big show will be the Oscars, According to the calendar. Not quite as much food involved, at a guess. They had a discussion about the quantity of various foodstuffs, consumed last evening stateside. Approximations, but the trick question hinged on the amount of celery sticks offered in TV rooms. Trace element.

Now that we binge watch, I’m working through a season of The Office. This stuff is fun! Workplace situations are always funky. No tell-all book on my horizon, unless we wait for another lifetime.

The current blizzard, over on the mainland, hasn’t come into our lives; still nasty outside, though. When the dog declines an opportunity to pass through the doorway, that’s as solid a weather report as I need.

A local charity (sic) has set up a huge “silent auction”, online. So much lobster! Why doesn’t someone offer me a big old cow or something, so I can refill the freezer and plan on regular beef dinners?

The other big target in this thing is a lot of sea glass jewelry; should I start learning the basics of wirebending and hole drilling? Even without an artistic eye, I might get lucky and turn bits of scrap into the next big thing. Find a new revenue stream. Just a thought.
