Good intentions? Lots.

Ringing in the New Year actually required about two hours, here. We’re still adapting to the change in time zones, and the cultural requirement of watching Infoman and Bye-Bye meant that we took two tries to get the countdown done.

To be fair, this was a private affair, and we had our own menu. Those frozen mystery bits, cooked in the upper oven, were yummy on the way down. Several hours later, the reflux alarm meant sleeping in was a concept to try later; in a year’s time, maybe.

And so begins another calendar sheet.

The day faded, quietly, into night. Our celebratory steaks were a nudge to that traditional turkey meme; we know better than to commit to another week of leftover fowl. Instead, tomorrow should see us city-bound, for a look at a city-style menu (might as well ignore any resolve to budget).

We lingered too long on some sort of Downton retrospective on PBS, and received “spoilers”. Going to have to do our binge watch, soon. After all, eight hours shouldn’t require much advance scheduling.  And once that’s out of the way, I have a few other virtual box sets awaiting.

That Game of Thrones thing is supposed to be good. And Breaking Bad. Perhaps a rewatch of the Tudors. Possibilities galore! Maybe that will be our “resolution”: to catch up on popular media content, instead of spying on the jay vs chickadee contest out front.

And don’t forget nature, as in “the Great Outdoors”. Mustn’t awake, several months from now, and find that winter was just good intentions mixed with mittens.
