The flavour I didn’t try
Over the summer months, one of the larger potato chip companies had a test market thing going on. I tried a couple of flavours; catchy ones. “Smoked Meat Sandwich”. “Baked Beans”. Not your usual salt and vinegar standards. Today, the winning entry came up on Twitter, and I realized that, as usual, I missed out. I’ll now be left with no idea what “PEI Scalloped Potato” chips actually taste like. Story of my life.
Maybe it’s time to return to traditional tastes. I could follow the example of the birds outside and get busy with that huge sack of sunflower seeds that followed me home from the hardware store this afternoon. Let the record show that both the jays and the chickadees are voting, enthusiasically, for our latest offering. Even the rabbits (hares) are hanging around, just in case.
More flurries. Actual ground cover. As soon as things start to stay for more than a day, I’ll post an updated pic of the lawn. Covered. Won’t have to mow the snow, apparently.
Submitted my proof of residency to the land tax people. Assuming that they accept my “here until you bury me” status, there’ll be a reduction towards the annual levy. Mind you, the provincial government announced an even larger deficit than expected in the House, this afternoon. Means that my house won’t help their House (as much).
Quote of the evening: “The American Medical Association called for a ban on Tuesday on the practice of advertising drugs directly to consumers”. Yes. People don’t need to know how many ways there are to die.
