Plant with planning

posted in environment, photography |

Another early up morning. From a photographer’s point of view, I’ve learned that you can’t fake a sunrise picture. Nor, can you predict it. The only reliable way to “get the pic” is to get the pic. Some mornings offer little, some exceed expectations. I’ll do it again (and again).

Today, the front steps received their staining. No big deal, and I was done before the sun and the blustery breezes made life challenging. We’re looking at substantial rainfall (apparently) over the next couple of days, so I wanted the job done. Check.

There’s a new bush awaiting transplantation. Here’s the thing: we’re newbies, and the proper “installation” shouldn’t be one of trial and error. That kills plants. Going to have to think this one through, and try to get a hole dug real soon. According to Google, the bundle of twigs may get big and bushy without any other chance to plan this through. Right by the front steps is “contra-indicated”.

Not much else going on. I’m not complaining; if I wanted uncontrolled busy, I could have stayed where I was. No, this is more a sign that my lifestyle is changing. According to the news, I’m about to join the largest demographic group in the nation, and nobody knows what to do with the bunch of us. One thing, kids… if you see me line dancing, by myself, in the living room… check my meds. And find me something to read, stat.

Speaking of meds, the province is introducing a new drug plan, that might be to my advantage. Time to read up on what they’re offering.
