Brighter (flash)lights
I don’t really need a brighter flashlight. I have several; all capable of showing me a path through the house should the power go out. Which it did, in passing. A short outage, before noon. Long enough to remind us that without current, the house is quiet and bereft of comforts like running water. Have to keep that thought in mind, should the desire to own a generator start to fade.
But, back to flashlights. My big Maglite, equally suited to use in a self-defense scenario is decent. However, after checking the corporate website, I’ve learned that the company also sells new models. LED. Much brighter. Hey, if you want me to test your newer technology, I’m here. I’ll turn out the lights.
How did people ever get around, back in the days of the single candlepower? Did they have better eyesight? Maybe the urge to wander in the dark wasn’t the same; maybe bedtime came at dusk. I’m getting closer to that way of life, but I still enjoy the challenge of a ramble in the dark. With a flashlight…
The Duffy trial has started to get interesting. The man with the checkbook (who thinks he’s right) is on the stand, and a whole volume of email is now out there, for the rest of us to peruse. Still nothing that will change the course of history (oh, how I wish).
Received my new wok, in the mail. Comes with a fancy stick-free coating, which should last until the first attack with a dull knife. How to convince the youngest cook that caring for a pan is at least as important as choosing a menu?
