Traffic circles and campfires
I couldn’t wait. That debt, from yesterday, had to be paid off, today. And so, long before lunch, I was in the car heading to town. Not even into town; the dealer is across the river. I handed over the cheque for the the remaining amount and headed back east. Back roads, all the way, all the better to see life in the country on a sunny day.
Among the highlights, a delay while navigating the next roundabout, in the middle of nowhere. This sudden love affair by the department of highways for traffic circles makes sense in areas with traffic. In a place that you can barely find on a map, not so much. I guess it’s one way of keeping people employed, during those sunny days.
The landscaper put on a burst of effort today. We now have a walkway, and a fully seeded lawn. Looks wonderful, as long as one accepts that the greening will take several weeks. And rain. We were warned not to “water the lawn”, to avoid disturbing the tiny seeds (of potential). I’m easy. The company has really delivered what they promised, and the grounds look much better than before.
Tonight, we headed over to our favourite campground, in time for a campfire circle. Lots of familiar faces, and good conversation until it became too cold to continue. No mosquitoes, though. Lots of wildlife out and about, including a number of foxes that seems as curious to see us as we were they.
I’m now wondering if the Perseids have started…
