The weather is fine
Sleeping in qualifies as “highly overrated”. There’s always something else going on, here in the country. Just this morning, the dog alarm went off about the time that I might have fallen asleep in other times/other climes. The contractor sent his man to do (some of ) the railings, and fix (maybe) the basement windows. I’ve learned to be hopefully enthusiastic.
Anyhow, some of the rail parts weren’t the right dimensions; we’ll get another go-around on that one. And rather than pull the windows out completely, we agreed that new flashing and caulking might be the answer. I don’t want a rainstorm for the test, and spraying the house with a hose is so “movies”.
With enough railing in place on the deck to support my weather station mast, I was pumped! Got the computer out of its hole, updated all the software, checked the Vantage 2 components. Waited… Insufficient clamps to complete the anchoring. By late afternoon, a quick trip to the local general store (hey, the owner even knows my name!) saw me back getting everything ready for the next hurricane.
The station is now online: wx.spudman.ca for the curious. I’ve adjusted the lat and the long and the height ASL and all the other variables. The new photo (on the left border) replaces my former site pic (the antenna). I’ll fine tune things, but the station has left the box pile. That’s progress.
The carpenter filled me in about Red Seal, and the frustrations of “do it all” worker in the wild west, where you do your specific job until you perish.
