Playing tidy

posted in environment |

Sometime around noontime, I decided to watch the show. From last evening, my first effort at “taping” with that fancy PVR we received from the Bell bundle. And it worked! I was able to watch the “Still Standing” performance from Souris. Good, albeit short. When you subtract the commercial breaks from the nominal 24 minutes of broadcast, the editing had to be tight to fit in the jokes. I now know far too much about plunging for clams.

I’ve given up on contractor tidy time. After waiting for a visit during the last month, I found a rake and managed to snag the worst of the plastic/foam/cardboard from the wooded section near the driveway. Good to get the stuff out before the snows return (that was his excuse for the original mess). Now I need some rails around the deck, the better to anchor the anemometer and resume timely observations of the prevailing wind direction.

Son #3 now wants a bicycle. I guess that the distance from here to anywhere can seem a little depressing to someone accustomed to public transit; hey, I feel the pain. We didn’t take along his old bike, so now comes the time to find a replacement. He’s out this evening, checking the barn content at a friend’s place.

I learned that the city hospital has a lithotripsy unit. Just in case. I can see showing up in emergency and letting the term “trip” off my tongue. Should impress the staff enough to let me have a session under the gun, so to speak.
