Framing

posted in environment |

Today, I purchased a roll of bubbles. The compulsion to “snap” each tiny chamber of rare air will have to come later, but for now I have a valuable resource. For the record, $25 allows me to take home 16 sq. m. Enough to cover the floor of a living room (I didn’t test the idea).

We’re not a family with a lot of framed art, but it seems important to protect the few “units” for the time in transit. And anything left over can be packed into odd corners of less than full cartons. I did head out to purchase a frame for something else, this afternoon (the treasured diploma recently received by son #1). So many choices: frames come in an amazing variety of sizes and colours, and that’s just the perimeter. Add in the glass cover. “Will that be reflect or non-reflect”. Add in the matte (what?) At least I can take another thing of the to-do list.

The oversize garbage pickup will pass, tomorrow. My favourite chair is now waiting, patiently, by the curb. I have two options: stand, or hunker down like we did in phys. ed. class, back when I still had a minimum of flexibility. For this evening, I’m going to take a third course, and go to bed early. Easy solution.

The basement lost a lot of its “what on Earth” styling this afternoon. Pity that we’ve run out of space in the green bin…

Soon, the big broom will remove the final traces, and I’ll take some photos, just for the memories. Progress.
