Say it, optimistically

posted in environment |

Said with an optimistic voice, the phrase is wonderful. Warming, even. Here, try it: “Tomorrow is the first day of Spring!” If you pay no attention to the view from the nearest window, all is good. Actually, back three months ago, winter hadn’t really started either. Maybe we’re in a world with the equivalent of “seven second delay.

Watched a neat video compilation, showcasing some instances of  bovine reasoning. I’m impressed. As I told one of the kids, I enjoy a good steak. A good, smart steak? Awesome! Besides, if carrots can help me to see in the dark, and brussel sprouts are good, then by extension…

Took the time to walk around the house, trying to visualize instructions to a mover. Felt good. I realize that we have a lot of empty boxes, waiting for designated contents. Maybe we won’t need a convoy to get us across the threshold.

With two dogs in the room, I now believe that they copy each other, a lot. Bring out food? One begs, the other begs to be included. Fake a doorbell ringing (it happens, OK.) and watch how one cues the other to  sound off. Growl at one (again, it happens), and you join in a pack moment. No tricking those two.

This afternoon, another miracle. By committee, we reduced the number of water glasses and coffee mugs in the cupboard. Filled a small garbage bag, long enough to start the collection on the road to the slag heap. Is it a bad thing that we still have too many, each one with a memory tag?
