Let the play begin
Let the play begin. A certain senator is about to face the courts. The crimes matter, but not nearly so much as the players involved. You see, the senator, who may or may not be a legal Islander, has decided that he won’t be “thrown under the bus”, or “washed overboard by a rogue wave”. He has requested that some friends in high places shall appear, in his defence.
Now, I’ve never been to court, but telling lies is highly frowned upon according to all I’ve read. Since the “settle out of court” card has been rejected, the public may actually see what egg looks like on famous faces. We’re still about six weeks away from the “all rise” call; enough time to work out the texts of this passion(ate) play.
More curling this week. The Briar, which puts the best team from each province (sort of) in a round-robin and playoffs format. Yes, like the Scotties, for those paying attention. Good skill sets, colourful jerseys, a total rebuttal to the laws of physics that were offered up in my education. I may not watch every day, but I will watch.
In a timely fashion, the clinic called this morning – twice. I have an appointment for the first part of next week, leaving me more time to move, or road trip, or whatever. I’m hoping that the new specialist (I’ve met my share over the last few seasons) will find that everything is awesome (cue the appropriate music). Somehow, I’d like to hear that my eye is getting better (and better).
