Frozen meals at the right time and price
It’s a given; you can produce most meals, in your own kitchen, for less than the retail price point. Most homebodies work for slave pay rates, after all. However, I’m willing to admit when I find a deal on something. I’m willing to buy that deal if there are enough nickels left in the back pocket. Today’s mention: frozen lasagna, big enough for three, for a penny under six dollars. No need to thaw first. The oven will do the dirty.
I’m making a conscious effort to empty the pantry. No need to drag a car full of odd boxes of pasta along for the ride. I mean, if I was into mac-art, then maybe, but volumes of home style ground beef and noodles should not be a dietary foundation. The condiments are almost gone, and although we’ll need to purchase too much milk between now and whenever, the kitchen is almost under control.
Team Homan finished their quest for a trophy plaque this afternoon. Next year?
The Niagara falls are almost frozen. I’d love to see that, but I’m not willing to spend ten hours in a car to see more ice and snow. My spirit is ready for spring. I find myself wondering just how large a plow pile the car can handle, in reverse. I find myself testing my luck. After all, there are shovels (and four-way flashers) should my luck fail me.
Last week, a strike against one of the major railroads in Canada was foiled; government zealots with back-to-work legislation already drafted. Next week, a lockout by another of the major railroads seems to be racing ahead. The question is, will that same government intervene? Given the political bent…
