Ready to report

posted in economy |

Should the revenue arm of the state happen to wonder, I now have the reporting software for my income taxes, purchased and installed. I happened along when prices were down, and although I believe the package should be free to that small percentage of citizens that actually pay, some things aren’t meant to be. At least I saved about 25%.

Had to go out on greasy roads, and choose among a range of similarly priced and “feature equal” products. A year from now, we’ll see…

I also searched for a small wooden or plastic box, to house my next project. Found nothing suitable. Now back to trying to imagine an alternative that doesn’t require the purchase of too much tea. Or throat lozenges. Or some, as yet unseen possibility. Pity I threw away that diskette box, a few weeks back.

We toyed with the idea of an unscheduled road trip east, but after checking the social media stream, that will wait. Not at all fun to go white-knuckle express for the better part of a day. Instead, I might push myself out to a housing trade show, just to look at cool new things while pretending to be a potential customer. The admission of $15 plus parking qualifies as “diversionary spending”.

Who know? Maybe I’ll learn the trick to having a new lawn, or an interesting stair tread option. Or see some geothermal hardware (the real draw). Ask questions while already knowing the answers (the basis of teaching). Win something (as if…)

That’s for tomorrow. For now, some freshly baked bread will distract me.
