Milk and more

posted in politics |

Had to be proactive this morning; there was no more milk on hand, and that means coffee just won’t go down (for some). And it isn’t as simple as that old song about “a spoonful of sugar”. Didn’t people care about good nutrition back then?

Of course, early market runs never end up with “just” some milk. We now own three boxes of sausage rounds. The store had been out of stock for at least six months… No rounds, no home made McMuffin menu. And the bagels were fresh, so we now have a double whammy on the waistline (although there are more calories in two slices of bread. Just sayin’).

We took in an extra dog for the day. Stereo alerts every time a car, or a person, or a squirrel went by out front. Thankfully, no doorbells on TV. I did offer to move the chimes with us, but the cover is no longer shiny and new, so the our main dog will have to develop a new trigger to his response.

Big news from the Island. The premier has announced his intention to resign. Could this be a precursor to new career hopes on the Hill? We’ll be waiting and watching. Of course, an even bigger question is about who pretends to his throne. There will be another election. Speculation is the water for the political mill.

Today, that tagine we purchased on impulse way back when made it to the table. No cous-cous, or goat meat, but the future augurs well.
