Tape works… Once.

posted in environment |

Finally, the call I wanted. A confirmation that our Big Plan can continue. No need to bore you with details, but some situations really are beyond my control. Now the sleep should be less interrupted by “what if?” worry.

This wearing a plastic eye shield to protect me against “night rollover” isn’t as big a deal as I feared. Tape works… once. Forget reuse; the sticky doesn’t, after a certain time. Keeps the manufacturer solvent (sorry, but I couldn’t resist).

For the last few weeks, many of the websites I visit on a regular basis seem to have a commitment to a pipeline project aimed at this part of the fragile planet. On sites that suggest I could “not see this ad again”, the mechanism is broke. Am I naive to believe my network presence isn’t targeted by “geolocation”? Am I that important to the greedy goals of the petroleum industry? I hope not; their efforts are wasted.

Yesterday, a major water main broke elsewhere in the city. Major mess! Beyond the obvious complications for part of the population; boil water warnings, traffic redirection, bottled water for hospitals and schools, coffee shops that must close because you don’t need boiling water to brew, brewmeisters that need clean water… Heck, the list is really long… There’s the issue of repair. As in, does the city need to go to tender to hire some guys with shovels? Apparently not, due to the health issues. The mayor can decide. Without any need to consult. Somehow, he looks happy about that…
