Wasted days and wasted nights

posted in health |

Blame it on the bright lights (but not the late nights); today I just didn’t get started. Sore eye, mainly. Safer to put in the drops and salve and stay horizontal until late afternoon. Doesn’t happen often.

In fact, I’m betting on “one in a thousand” days lost to health and welfare this last while. Since I’m technically still on vacation, this one was ‘my dime” as we say. The dog made sure I got him food and outside time early, with no additional need for my attention. Very adult, if I may say so.

Now we’re into the evening, with supper done and cleared away. Some excellent hamburgers. Keep it simple. The “other dog” is here, and after an initial running in circles the two hairy monsters found quiet corners to rest. Not together; they’re friends, not bundle buddies. Funny how dogs work that one out. Much faster than our species.

I bought two crowbars yesterday; now ready for any demolition effort. Didn’t cost me much. With a broom, the whole pile came in at less than $20 plus the effort to lug them from the auto-cash out to the car. Not easy to balance a load like that. Guess it explains why people rarely carry long iron pry tools around on a daily basis. That and the possibility of arrest for “possession of burglary tools”.

The news that “Pre-Neanderthal bones” have been uncovered in France points out that I know nothing about CSI for the Indiana Jones gang. How do you know that you have found something that is older than smething else, when they look too much like leftovers from a rib roast. Food for thought…
