Made sense to go and get groceries before the football telecast started. Would have made more sense to go to a store that wasn’t celebrating… I never did find out what. More free food than ever before, an inflatable play park and a live radio station in the parking lot next to the oversize hot dog stand. A rock band playing in what normally serves as seating for the food court (the one rendered unnecessary by all the free food in the departments). And the usual cart pilots without any sense of direction. Spinning in the aisles, blocking progress. I remained polite.
The football game turned into another strong afternoon for the Rouge et Or against the Vert et Or. A colour thing. The game remained lopsided almost all the way through; I didn’t see the last quarter, after the network cut away to a Mr. Bean marathon. Thankfully, Twitter provided box scores. I’d love to sit in on the Monday morning meeting, where someone explains away the mis-switch. Was it a case of wanting to save the pride of the losing side? And Mr. Bean?
And now the rain is falling down. No big deal, except that we’ve been promised a light show (Aurora Borealis) this evening, and solid cloud cover should mask that rather well. Haven’t seen “the lights” in years, but living in a city doesn’t help. Maybe next year.
Read some good photo gear articles this afternoon. What I took away from it is that I should get a couple more memory cards, and all the UV filters in the world won’t save you from an enthusiastic rock.
