Finding another way back home

posted in Wx |

Not exactly a “Frantic Friday” around the office, even with a long weekend about to begin. Most of the predicted players were in place. No emergencies on the work list. In fact, my two big jobs of the morning included rep lugging a loose printer cable and storing away an extra telephone. In a word, yawn!

School opens RSN, and my concern level has never been at a lower ebb. This time around, neither the teachers nor the students will come into my sphere of influence. I have fourteen more sessions in a cubicle, and there will NOT be one in my new abode. A desk, maybe. But grey fabric walls are officially off the list.

Somehow, I climbed on the other bus this afternoon. Time to find an alternate way home, given my firm resolve to never backtrack (for anything less than wild bears or random riches). With the help of my (smarter than me) phone, and an app, I routed around my moment of distraction. Arrived home on time. In time, to go and buy rakes. Long story, with an out of control lawn and a lack of control by our resident lawn care specialist. Need I mention that dire threats were also involved…

The odour of vinegar in the car is less today. Not absent, which means that the TV ads for Febreze are more interesting than ever before.

On the Island, a frost warning is up (out??). The old catch phrase about Old Home Week and the End Of Summer, still true.

I’ve started reading about how to surface a new rural driveway. Could be good to know how.
