Tricks in coffee prep

posted in travel |

What was easy, at home in a familiar kitchen, took on a whole new character this morning. Me and the Aeropress, shortly after sunrise. Three tries before everything lined up properly, and one minor water burn. A bit of a mess, when nobody but the dog is watching, is easier on the pride. Tomorrow I’ll get ‘er done right!

The fault lay in my one-eyed down wind lackadaisical approach to following clear directions. Mea culpa, Aeropress dude.

And the rest of the morning went by without any crazy moments. Shower, shave (no, wait; forgot that detail), find clean clothes. Be ready for the call to join family in Souris for lunch. Show off the housing ideas. Discuss the situation in northern schools. Test the dogs on their wall jumping skills. Bid a fond farewell. Return to regular programming.

Double dog walk sessions on the beach, along with a third “almost” when we stopped at Basin Head for a chocolate Milk Break. Tourists…

I also met with the local septic system installer; a better idea on what to answer if there are questions at the development office. Should go there tomorrow morning, right after coffee.

Still getting emails from people at work who don’t understand my/their dilemma. I’m too far away to hold their hand for the simple stuff. Can’t check your email from home? Me neither.

I won’t be there to handle the questions before the end of the summer, and I won’t be there one winter. Hope they can adjust with as much ease as I intend to.
