Bug in a box

posted in politics |

Since I should not let a day go by without learning something, I pay attention to the little things. Did you know that making aoili is a noisy affair? To be fair, I had never seen the term before today, and apparently it goes well with lobster. I did cook a lobster, but I already knew how that worked. Boil water, wait, remove a red bug and go on to other things.

On TV, some people are up to their elbows in a Neolithic tomb in the Orkney Islands. No fiddle music offered…

Tried some of the excellent podcasts available from CBC. As good as listening to the radio in the car, without regard for a schedule. I think I’ll be back (to catch up on the Vinyl Cafe monologues.

Our Fearless Leader is on a rampage against “godless Communism in Russia”. Could someone on his staff please bring the man up to date on the last thirty years of political history. Seriously, does Conservatism have to be synonymous with Stupidity? Or is it limited to those who have spent too long breathing in the rich vapours of bituminous sands? I am filled with despair… Did Paleolithic campers have stupid leaders? Is there a lesson here for the rest of us (since we don’t seem to understand our current political atmosphere.

The dog was intrigued by my “bug in a box” (see above), since that’s how the creature arrived from the supermarket. For the record, it cost $17.61/Kg; the fishers only dream of such prices.
