No access to falling blocks

posted in computing |

Spent too long this afternoon trying to apply updates on the Mac Mini. Foreign land to me. Decided to relax after I ran out of buttons to push, and went into the app store (another foreign land). Turns out there is no apparent access to a version of Tetris! I knew that the orchard wasn’t a great place to play, but for pity’s sake. No Tetris? How do the locals put up?

Also ventured into the furniture store, this afternoon, in case we have to replace the washing machine (a long, unfinished story). Stuff still costs serious bucks, but the warranty is down to one year, standard. Guess the whole “they don’t make ’em the way they used to” is really true. If the man with the parts has no more faith than that in the workmanship, how can I, the harried buyer, be better? I know, rocks come with longer periods…

Odd detour in the meat department. Went over to the local grocery, early, and had to avoid a whole section of the store because there was a film crew on site with their own “crowd”. Excited shoppers, take two. Tonight, supper will be alternative fare, since I didn’t get to make any impulse choice. Hope the movie was worth it to someone.

Drab, dreary, rainy, gray spring weather. In two months, we’ll probably be under some variation of the drought warning, but for now, there’s water enough to satisfy all your needs. Except floating a boat; I don’t have one of those, unless you count the “in storage” kayak downstairs.
