A coulda-shoulda day

posted in environment |

Like the car, I may be caught  in a rut. Didn’t even make it outside today, what with the continued blowing snow. Instead I settled for movies on the TV. The car is perched over a snow crater, which is akin to a rut with less motion included.

Luckily, the main movie was a good one. The Perks Of Being A Wildflower, which managed a rating of 8.1 on IMDB. That’s rare air. It helped that the story was solid, and that Emma Watson laid down her magic wand and went for something grittier. This movie should be watched in high school, although it won’t be. Too many moralizing adults to allow something like that to happen.

There were other things that I coulda-shoulda today, but it is the weekend, and those are precious. We did spend some time perusing a for sale portfolio, for the cottages below our next house. More money than I want to invest, and that whole rising sea level thing makes it iffy. After all, SCUBA is fun, just not as a prerequisite to daily living. Off the grid, too… the sun doesn’t always shine when you need it.

No. I’m not posting a link. Too much chance of getting neighbours that are needy when you do things like that.

Instead, I’m going to image THIS house. Empty. Freshly painted. New floors. A For Sale Sign with a Sold sticker. It will happen. And any worry about who just moved in will be transferred to someone else. All I will have to do is make sure that I turn over the extra keys, and wave as I exit.
