In search of a suitable monitor
Two hours. Enough time to confirm that Mr. Cruise is not able to turn a mashup of Top Gun, War of the Worlds and a Bond Girl into a good movie. But, at least with cable, I didn’t have to leave the house.
Spent the afternoon looking at what it takes to purchase a pair of studio monitors. The answer seems to be “money”. There are many pretenders to the title, but none that I’m willing to invite into my home just yet. Guess my headphones are going to remain in play.
The dog seems to have “discovered” our bed. He doesn’t like to share his couch (too much belly scratching from the interlopers), so when we aren’t paying attention, he does the stealth thing and hides out in a darkened room. I’ve tried to trick him a couple of time; that’s where I leave him in place until my bedtime, and then hope he’ll take an active role in keeping my feet warm. Usually lasts fro about ten minutes, and then he returns to his usual perch, secure that I won’t follow. And the next day, we start all over again.
My recent list of titles on the ebook reader include a series of novels by Philip Kerr, set in Germany around the end of the 40’s. The first book took a long time to get through; I can only handle so many clichés per paragraph. However, he found his beat after that, and I’m now on a firth in a row. Decent stuff. Almost enough city details to invite a visit to Europe.
