Crazies in their cars

posted in environment |

I want to ask why, but not too loudly. Came home from work, this evening, to find my son tidying up around the house. Not son #3, who still lives here; son #1, who hasn’t for a number of years. I should be grateful for the added manpower, but my experience (with life) is that random acts of kindness are rare.

That’s beside the point.

This afternoon, my workload was simple. Watch over a videoconferenced training session, wherein those responsible for spending a large part of the school board budget were given in-service training on the purchasing system. Consider filling out a catalog order form. Over and over again. For those that claim the need for monotony in their lives… At least the VC  part went well, and I was ready to catch my bus at the appointed hour.

We had a bit of freezing rain this afternoon, which left the sidewalks a bit slippery. What’s the deal this year? The whole pedestrian environment seems safe from safety, if you get my innuendo. Heard on the news that the local police intend to step up the efforts to stop jaywalking… for the safety of those who are on those slippery sidewalks. Take it from me; the only safe place to shuffle is out among the crazies in their cars. Not good.

The “minority voice” in our provincial assembly is sponsoring an online petition. Topic: removal of bus lanes from the local autoroute, because those crazies in their cars are jealous. What has happened around here? Is is something in the water supply?
