Tallest in the nation if they say so

posted in environment |

One nation’s marvel is another nation’s trivia. In the US of A (because there are other “United States” in the world), the new World Trade Tower has been declared the tallest building in the nation. The antenna has been declared a spire, as in on the church. Fitting. Although it won’t be the tallest in the world, the sense of pride will still radiate, worldwide. Oh, and the trivial part; the antenna on top is not an antenna, if they say so. Hope that’s clear to the rest of us.

I’ve been to the upper portion of the CN Tower. Not the top; that’s an antenna. Much like the one in New York, except that we accept that an antenna is not a spire. If you want to juggle with words, the Toronto structure is not (tecnically) a building, although you can eat in a restaurant, and sit on chairs, and sleep on the floor until the security personnel notice.

Moving along (right). I’m trying to decide what my next life goal should be. Write a book. Compose a tone poem. Paint a picture with pixels. Teach the dog to do something (anything) other than usurp two of the four available seats in the living room for himself. I’m still young enough to accomplish one (or more) of those things. Came close to going on an international trip today, until we found out that the two seats on the bus had already been sold off. Maybe I should add that to my list: using my passport before it expires. Won’t be the first time I’ve let that happen.
