Underwhelmed by the panorama

posted in photography, travel |

Finally got around to testing software on the set of photos I took last summer. To my surprise, even a 360 “in the round” picture doesn’t match standing there in the breeze. Technology. I’m going to post a simple panorama shot, just as a proof of concept.

Now that I have completely underwhelmed you, shall we continue?

Preparations are underway for the road trip of the century; to a wedding, no less. I am not able to go, which allows me the possibility of stepping back and watching others try to plan for the unexpected. How much will that road toll cost? Can we book (and then cancel) a room at the last minute? Will we find anyone there that we know. Reasonable questions, I suppose. The dog and I will hear all the details, on the flip side.

The football game I expected wasn’t in the schedule, this afternoon. Instead, some other teams from other places. The sport was good (eleven sacks, notwithstanding), but I’ll be glad when some Rouge et Or fever is presented next weekend. Maybe the dog will show some interest in the game, if I up the quality of the snacks.

This was also a good afternoon to upgrade the firmware on one of the DSLR bodies. Always a stressful action; what if I brick it? This time around, all went as hoped, and the promise is for better exposure calculation and some flash improvement. I’m not taking photos often enough to have been waiting on this one. Maybe (just over) a year from now.
