Imagination in an art supply store
Encouraged by the boat catching exercise yesterday, I decided to try the experience again. Sort of. I did return to the ferry dock, and the boat did come in, but this time it returned the passenger to my care. Interesting variation.
Let’s break this down. Sunrise wasn’t a failure, although the clouds hid the true display. The early morning mosquitoes are more fierce than the late evening type (is that even possible). And, before breakfast, I was sitting in a parking lot, connected to free wifi to permit work on my online course. Or downloading the nine new video lessons, which counts as work while on vacation. Anyways.
When the text message came in, confirming that a boat was leaving the other side, I felt that the run through the hills around Caledonia would be a good move. Or a better move than the alternate plan of doing nothing at all. This time around, the secret back road to the foot passenger terminal was revealed. The dog and I parked and waited for the ferry to “hove into view”.
Now, off to town. The holiday (elsewhere) meant that crucial parts for bicycle building had not come in, so delivery will happen later in the week. Another day to spend in the city. I contacted my sister’s travelling road show, and by mid afternoon we joined forces in an art supply store. Don’t laugh. Think of it as a store with lots of possibilities. Home CSI. Oversize tennis. Wooden box design. T-shirt tie dye. There is no limit.
Some heavy weather killed power in parts of the city, so our supper reservation at Water-Prince carried an interesting variation. Service by candle. We ate, we paid cash, and as the last dime was accounted for, the electricity returned.
