The actual preparation day

posted in travel |

This day just got away from me. Looked at the clock and saw that 23:99 was upon me, and realized that there were still things to get done. Like this. I’m in preparation mode, for travel. Distracting time of the summer.

There’s so much to get done. Roof racks and hamburger to get on the car. Pool skimmer to be cleaned, before adding some of that really noxious chlorine powder; the stuff is in overdrive mode, so I’ve opted for outdoor storage. Another couple of scoops and we move to tablets, even though I didn’t spot the floating dispenser while dragging up stuff from the basement. Not my problem, for now.

Checked the tents. Two, although only one is actually going on tour. Best checked before leaving home, based on life experience. Clean out the cooler, and wash the camping dishes… yes, they were put away clean, but I’m not running this show without advice. In fact, the kitchen box looked a little “damaged” so we now have a new one. That’s why families end up with surplus everything.

New T-shirts, so that a gift card wouldn’t expire. My actual cash layout came to about $3 each; a deal. Even mixed up the colours, so that I can fit in with local settings (as long as bright yellow, blue or green are highlighted). And then the decision process. What hobbies will get to go on tour? Pets: yes. Photograpy: yes. Radio: still a maybe. I’ll make the final decision early tomorrow. Right now, we could actually depart with only an hour or so of carpacking. This might be a go.
