Stirring the piles
Another round of finding stuff before the holidays. In a pre-planned world, I would put stuff away and leave detailed notes to myself (in a central location) describing not only the article but the associated packaging. That’s my problem. I come back from vacation, stow all the stuff, to allow using the car for other activities and then I hit pause. Eleven months later…
Wonderful mental images. This morning, I could see my antenna bags. Clearly. Eidetic memory, with the cheap version of software. You see, that wasn’t what I should have been looking for. I’d forgotten that neat little army surplus bag, purchased just before leaving (a year ago). The antennas were safely stored inside, but I spent several hours turning over the compost (that’s an allegory).
Along the way, I discovered all sorts of other things, but I envy those who are organized. Might be less fun (if seeking is in the amusement category), but much more effective. And now I have to continue finding stuff, because antennas are not central to the camping project. I wonder what I should do next. This afternoon was idyllic; maybe I could spend the next few weeks simply seeking stuff, and put the whole travel thing on hold.
Hardly practical. Try to engage in “engaging” water cooler conversation. When asked how you spent the holidays (which are important to a whole class of co-workers) admit that you never actually went anywhere. That stirring piles of stuff was more entertaining (see the “compost” allegory, if you’re confused).
