Mud brown and mud grey

posted in environment |

A blank page. An invitation to change the world. If only. Go ahead, say it. If only a little inspiration will come along. Can’t depend on the weather; even their website reports nothing. The dog is worried about anyone in the street. Four-legged. Two-legged. Bicycle bound.  And others…

Talking to someone who spent the weekend in the mud. Voluntarily.  A music festival, with just enough rain to keep colours uniform. Mud brown, mud grey. A mix of the two. From the photos, even the car attracted a share of soil that would make a farmer jealous. No mention of the music.

In the office, a calm persuades us that schools must be closed. Yes, there were odd calls (I deal with odd in the same order as everything else). It’s just that we spend ten months of the work year in a frenzy of fix this, break that. The change in routine is good. Today puts me 500 days away from making a decision without actuarial penalty, and I can “do the time”.

Took a camera and tripod along, this morning. Over the lunch break I took several sets of photos and managed to produce some very pleasing panorama sequences. That stupid SD card reader that I purchased for a dollar at the dollar store turned out to have a value approaching worthless, so a spare laptop served as the transfer mechanism from camera to hard drive. Must find another reader that works, before going “madly off in all directions”.  And I should post one of the finished efforts here. Maybe tomorrow.
