Preemptive housekeeping
We’ve gone from hot enough to require shorts to cold enough to require a polar. Canada, in summer. This is why I delay my vacation block for as long as possible (within limits). The best is yet to come.
My new lens is still in transit. In this city, which is frustrating. And we’ve just emptied the extra bedroom, to try and turn it back into an extra bedroom. Not a credit to perfect planning. Life in the breakdown lane, or something. On the upswing, son #3 is returning to his regularly scheduled programming at the hotel (which offers much better accommodations than the extra bedroom, albeit for a higher price point.)
Today was a mixed medley in the workplace. I now have a pile (literally) of laptops to massage into a better state. Before vacation. From where the need to keep the block as late on the calendar as possible while hoping for better weather as a recompense. See how I slip those French-as-English words in there, hoping you won’t be paying attention.
Of course, sometime later this evening, our (guy-based) efforts at room prep will be edited. Unlike this blog, which rarely is. I had great intentions of reworking blocks of text into prose fit for inclusion in school texts, but the sheer volume overwhelmed me (several years back). Now I keep on writing, trusting that if an edit is ever appropriate, someone with a more discerning eye will be in charge of the project. Or something like that.
Time to toss the feathers in the kitchen.
