A day without pain or rain

posted in technology |

It’s Saturday, and I’m at a loss about what to write. Today was a day without detail. I tried; some shopping, some cooking, some delivering food and medication to a sick gas bar employee. Nothing that would interest the world, or bring in a news crew from the major networks with cameras and satellite trucks.

Wait. Pretty much every day is like that. I seem to be safe from the famous Chinese curse, “May you live in interesting times”. So, let’s slow things down and see if there are any details that would remove this day from its place on the shelf of oblivion.

I did purchase a new video card for one of the desktops around here. It did require more than one trip to the store because inventory control isn’t perfect; they actually found the box I wanted to buy after I’d left and gone grocery shopping. When I got back home and started unloading bags from the back of a very clean van (thank you, personal cleaning crew), the message came to return before the store closed 23 minutes later. I made it, and the poor guy on the cash seemed disappointed that I had no interest in purchasing an extended warranty plan.

Around the house… sorry, but I’ve run out of details. Our very old Electrolux (1957 model) still runs, but nobody else cares that vintage  vacuum cleaners are still useful appliances. Or do they? I’ll watch the search strings that bring up this post in the next few months, just to see. Maybe I’m in charge of a valuable antique machine and just haven’t realized it.
