Awaiting a surge
An interesting law has been proposed, south of here. The intent is to allow consumers to choose the channel mix they want in their cable package. No more A+B+C if you want D. The chance of this passing the corporate gauntlet is similar to snowballs in a mythical hot place. Still, some of us would love new jurisprudence, in our own quest for enlightenment. Also in the law, an end to game blackouts in team towns. Don’t laugh. TV doesn’t have to be bad and unfair (just expensive).
Spent some time reviewing old posts on here, and I’m proud of the effort. Once in a while… or as a friend puts it… no, let’s not go there. I’m going to stay with proud.
The city is waiting for a storm surge. Not me; I live too far up the hill, but down in the port area there may be wet toes by morning. A combination of higher than average tides, some wind and a second night of heavy rain should raise the level of the river just enough. Which begs the question: why do people insist on construction only centimetres above the “high water mark”. It’s not like the same conditions aren’t present, several times a year. Sandbags are handy, but only the first time. Next flood season, get ready.
Trying to convince myself that a bit of practice will make my next assignment go better. The only “Intro to Guitar” is requesting that I strum AND record (no, not the wooden whistle kind), and then post the results online for the amusement of others. If I avoid all practice, my reputation as beginner will not be compromised.
