Crowding on the ebook shelf
Blame it on the whole Olympic movement. Sometime tomorrow, or the next day, I will receive my new ebook reader. One with light, so I can stay awake longer trying to work through an ever expanding personal library. In keeping with the motto: Faster, Higher, Stronger, the new reader will be be Brighter, Lighter, Cleaner and Faster. Or as someone explained, getting a present is nice.
In practical terms, the ebook shelf is crowded, so I’ve agreed to sell my current one to someone (anyone?), as long as the price point doesn’t flex. I firmly believe that getting the whole package is good, and so I spent the last few evenings trying to find the original packaging. It was around here somewhere; my mind’s eye saw a shopping bag still full of stuff. Alas. Until the box appeared on the sideboard, unrequested. Another mystery.
I pondered the task of replacing a capacitor in the weather station, this morning. Imagined dragging a ladder up from the basement, leaning against the mast in the back yard, carefully unbolting the transmitter assemble, finding and soldering in the replacement part, going to the box store for a new battery and then I ran out of energy and interest. Another day. Instead, I did our taxes. Before the deadline. Won’t someone say thank you for my effort?
Never fear, I’m ready to go back to work in the morning. Although the weekend was good, the need to help others… OK, that’s crap. I’m going back to work because I’m still too young to retire. Full stop.
